An honest guide to what's in season
Flowers in Season is an independent guide to Australian flowers: what's at market each month, where to see it growing, and where to buy it. It isn't a shop, and we don't sell flowers.
How we decide what's in season
Season months come from growers, wholesalers, flower markets and botanic gardens, and we note the sources on each flower page. Where sources disagree, usually because a state or an altitude runs earlier or later, we say so.
Anything we haven't confirmed carries a small being confirmed tag. It comes off once a grower, organiser or our founding florist has checked it. We never use search trends to decide when a flower is in season: people search for peonies in May because of Mother's Day, but Australian peonies flower in November.

Tulipanna has been on Bondi Road since 1992. George sends a short note from the flower market each week, and that note keeps the season pages current.
Photos
Every photo is a real photograph, from our florist or from Wikimedia Commons and similar libraries, and the photographer is credited under each one. We don't use AI-generated images of flowers.
