The Grafton Jacaranda Festival runs for ten days while the city's jacaranda-lined streets turn purple. See Park is a good place to start, and the program spreads across Market Square, Memorial Park and the CBD. The royal crowning ceremony is on 31 October at Market Square, and Jacaranda Thursday on 5 November closes the city streets from 7am to 3pm for markets and music. Grafton sits on the Clarence River, about three hours south of Brisbane.

Getting there: Grafton is on the NSW TrainLink line between Sydney and Brisbane and just off the Pacific Highway. During the festival a hop-on hop-off bus links the main hubs, and See Park has on-site parking.
