The Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show fills the Royal Exhibition Building and Carlton Gardens each March with show gardens, floral artistry and garden design. The 2026 show, themed Kaleidoscope, ran 25 to 29 March and added Growers Avenue, which showcased Australian-grown blooms, and The Petal Project, which paired growers with florists. Friday and Saturday stayed open until 9.30pm for Gardens by Twilight. It is the best single place to see what local flower growers are producing.

Getting there: Trams on routes 86 and 96 stop at Melbourne Museum (stop 11), right by the show, though it is outside the free tram zone. Parliament station is about 600m from the Victoria Street entrance, and the Melbourne Museum car park is entered from Rathdowne or Nicholson Street.
